Is Relaxation Meditation?

|| Dhyana ||

How do you measure...

a moment of beauty

a moment of joy

a moment of love?

How do you measure ... a song, a dance, a poem?

How do you measure Life

How do you measure Death

How do you measure ... God?

And if you cannot measure all these

You cannot measure Dhyana.

For Dhyana is an experience

A realisation of all these Together, One.

Nah. Dhyana is not about productivity. About private goals. About stress busting. That is relaxation. And yes, relaxation can be measured. Why not. But Dhyana - translated in english as Meditation - is the ultimate courage. Not to coagulate as an individual, but to dissolve as the Whole.

Purposeless purpose. An experience of paradox. A synthesis in silence.

Science can glimpse it. Be wonder-struck by it. But it cannot measure it. For how can a drop measure an ocean it is born of?

Ask, not the Newtonian science, but the science of the Quantum, it shall give you a peek into the mysteries of meditation.

“ Science cannot tell us a word about why music delights us, of why and how an old song can move us to tears Consciousness cannot be accounted for in physical terms. For consciousness is absolutely fundamental. It cannot be accounted for in terms of anything else.”

Any offering of relaxation is welcome. But confuse not relaxation with Dhyana. That is sacred grounds of dissolution, made not for us to fit well into the world, but for our little world in our little minds to be busted ... so that the Whole is invited to be revealed.
